Old Fashioned Oatmeal Combinations

Basic Oatmeal:

  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats (not quick oats)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  1. Pour water and uncooked rolled oats into a medium microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave the oats and water on high for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Remove the bowl from the microwave, stir it and microwave the oats for another 30 seconds if the water is not absorbed and the oats are not tender. (Microwave the oats in 30 second intervals until they reach the tenderness level you desire).

Topping Combinations:


1 Tbsp Peanut Butter + 1 Tbsp Goji Berries + 1/2 TBSP Chia Seeds


banana-goji-chia1/2 Banana (sliced) + 1/2 TBSP Goji Berries + 2 TBSP plain yogurt mixed with 1/2 TBSP Chia Seeds


apple-pie-oatmeal1/4 Apple (diced) + 1 tsp cinnamon + 1 packet stevia (all ingredients added PRIOR to microwaving oatmeal)

  1. I always like to spice up my oats as well! Sometimes using my favourite flavour of tea instead of just boiling water, add nuts or peanut butter 😍 or just milk and honey. Love oats!
