Gluten Free (Mickey Mouse) Waffles

I was browsing the internet a few weeks ago, when I stumbled upon this Mickey Mouse Waffle on a Stick Waffle Maker from Walmart and I couldn’t resist buying it. It was on sale for only $20 AND free shipping?! Best $20 I’ve ever spent. So this morning, I FINALLY got the chance to try out my new waffle iron! I had way too much fun. I haven’t made waffles since I was a kid, and Mickey Mouse waffles made it even better!IMG_0700

In this blog, I’ve included two recipes, one is gluten-free and the other is non gluten-free. For those of you who love waffles, but are gluten-free, this is definitely a recipe that you should try. I used Pamela’s Baking and Pancake Mix (which is gluten-free) to make these waffles, and it was quick, easy, and so yummy. This baking mix doesn’t make me miss the gluten at all! For those of you who aren’t gluten free, I’ve included a second recipe below that requires very common ingredients, and still has that delicious Belgain waffle taste. So whether you’re gluten free or not, you can enjoy these freshly made waffles in the morning!

Note: it only takes about 5-6 minutes to make these waffles in the iron, so if you are in a time-crunch, feel free to make the batter the night before and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week!

Servings: about three 7-inch round waffles

Ingredients (Gluten Free)


  1. In a medium bowl, whisk the wet ingredients together. Add in the dry ingredients until just combined. (It’s okay if the batter is lumpy because over-mixing will cause your waffles to turn out tough!)
  2. Pour the batter into a preheated & greased waffle iron and bake until golden brown.
  3. Serve with butter, syrup, bananas, fresh berries, peanut butter, jelly, whipped cream, or any combination you prefer. Enjoy them while they’re hot!
