Sugar Cookies

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Everyone! Every holiday, our family loves to make gingerbread houses and decorate sugar cookies. This year, I used extra special cookie cutters that I designed and 3D Printed!

Serving Size: about 30 (2-in) cookies

  • 3/4 cups butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Frosting

Kitchen Tools:

  • Electric hand or stand mixer
  • Rolling Pin
  • Cookie Cutters
  • Cookie Sheet

  1. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover, and chill dough for at least one hour (or overnight).
  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Roll out dough on floured surface 1/4 inch thick (thick cookies will spread and deform). Cut into shapes with any cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  3. Bake 6 to 8 minutes in preheated oven. Cool completely before frosting!
